The Beluga Whale is being threatened by extinction from being killed for the inlet and they play a imported roll in the health of the overall ecosystem
The Sperm Whale supports the ecosystem cause when it dies it becomes a food source to other small fish and big fish
these whales are from the st Lawerence gulf
The Blue Whale is endangered cause in the 1900's they hunted them for whale oil and they were at the brink of extinction between the 1900's and the 1960's they killed over 300,000 blue whales and in 1966 they became under protection but they never really recovered since
some north wood mammal species live on the shores and islands of the St Lawerence which are:muskrat, beaver, flying squirrels, mink, deer, porcupine.The ice during winter the animals use as a bridge to get to different islands.
some endangered species in the river are:Blanding's turtle, bald eagles, osprey, black tern, and the Indiana bat.
