The Public Gardens on Spring Garden Road are a 17 acre oasis that has fountains, rare flowers, trees and the beautiful red gazebo that is a fun place to and sit and have lunch.
The coldest day ever recorded in Halifax Citadel was -29.4 C on February 18th, 1922. The hottest day ever record was 37.2 C on July 10th, 1912.
The citadel as a whole was often referred to as fort Gorge, but only the third fort was actually called that after King Gorge the third.
