Since then, the little mining town of Burmis have cherished this tree that's why they named it the burmis tree. This tree has been broken twice, the first time is was blown down in 1998 but the locals stood it up again. The second time somebody thought it would be funny to cute off a branch and then the towns people fixed it with glue and used a crutch to support it. To this day you can see it, so make sure to stop by Highway 3, Crowsnest pass and check it out.
