AWARENESS
You will for sure want to bring insect repellent. When summer and spring comes by, Black flies and Mosquitoes start to come around.
In kejimkujik, Poison Ivy grows on sandy, stony or rocky shores, sprouts and thickets, in clearings, and along the borders of woods.
Mosquitoes and flies aren't the only creepy insects, the worst of all is.... Ticks!! Black legged ticks and the bacteria that cause Lyme disease are known to be present in Nova Scotia and Kejimkujik.
If a coyote is at a distance, stay still, do not approach it and watch it carefully to assess its behavior. If it approaches you,NEVER RUN AWAY, maintain your distance and do not turn your back. Swing sticks, make noises, and act big and aggressive.
Coyotes
Just like coyotes, there are black bears, if it's at a distance step away, if it is coming to you, act big and aggressive. don't turn your back, and get away.
