When the Canadian Pacific Railway was finished Sir John A McDonald the current prime minister rode it to check it out. He went through what would later be called yoho and noticed its stunning beauty. He passed the creation of Yoho later due to him wanting to preserve it. He also created two other national parks which he also saw on his journey these were Banff and Glacier national park. yoho has stayed a national park ever since.
