The first resident of Honeymoon Bay was Henry March. an English Pioneer in 1887. His original home is still standing today.
Honeymoon Bay was originally a lumber mill town. The homes on the original town site were built and completed by western forest industry's mill in 1947.
Gordon Bay is home to a true jewel or should I say "jewels". Gordon bay holds 6 murals all done by Victorian artist George Jenkins.
George was born in 1920 in Lloydminster and lived a majority of his childhood there. He did not only live there but also developed his love for drawing and painting there. He would observe and draw what he saw.
He moved to BC in 1946 and then began working in logging. The business became more isolated and scattered so he then returned to his art.
In the beginning of honeymoon bay if you lived there chances are your employment had something to do with Western Forest Industries Mill.
The first few houses were built in 1946 by WFI. In this year the first fire station and police post were built.
