Ecosystem
-The aquatic ecosystem is the richest life in Banff, but also the most altered

-Park waters have been filled with exotic fish and re-routed channels

-On march 31st the national park was divided into units based on vegetation

-Within the park trees, shrubs, and wild flowers vary depending on changes in elevation

-Small changes in elevation can create microclimates that provide different growing conditions

-The type of soil also influences which plants grow

-Wind, avalanches, fire and disease also effect the vegetation within the park

-Parks canada has an ecosystem based management plan in order to predict how man made or natural changes in one part of the ecosystem will effect other parts of the ecosystem

-An ecosystem includes all of the living things (plants, animals and organisms) in a given area, interacting with each other, and also with
there non-living environments (weather, climate and elevation)

-In an ecosystem each part has its own role to play
