Thirteen-year-old Brian Robeson is on his way to visit his father when the single-engine plane which he is flying crashes. Suddenly, Brian finds himself alone in the Canadian wilderness with nothing but a tattered Windbreaker and the hatchet his mother gave him as a present---and the dreadful secret that has been tearing him apart since his parents' divorce. But now Brian has no time for anger, self-pity, or despair---it will take all his know-how and determination, and more courage than he knew he possessed, to survive.

A Good Read When By The Fire

"Hatchet is a reflection of yourself. In the book you experience and share at least more that one of Brian's displayed emotions. The setting and the feeling, you can truly visualize the fantastic picture painted in mind. You are reminded of yourself, experiences, failures and outright success. Why not pick up Hatchet and make your ordinarily special adventure your own. Just one goal can put you on the road to success, don't just survive, thrive."

review

Imagine being stranded  all alone in the Canadian wilderness with nothing but and  Hatchet  and a torn windbreaker . Hatchet is a story about a worrier named Brain.with his parents just being divorced and has a awful secret and worries what       will happen next . I Think hatchet is for the warrior in all of us. To learn that when life gives you hard times you cant self pity yourself you have to stand up and do your part . The image Gary Paulsen paints in your mind with ups and downs will have you wanting more . And have you realize that the road to success does not come easily in fact it is one of the longest roads  in your life .
